Break in

You tap the door, and it doesn’t sound solid. You put your shoulder to it, and give it a shove, but it’s not going to give that easily. So you kick it instead. The face of the door bends and dents. You kick at it again, and the surface breaks. You concentrate on that spot, and eventually, you kick a hole in the bottom of the door.

You have to widen it, but you can crawl through into Metcalf’s office. You push the torch ahead of you and squeeze through. You’re not exactly sure what you’re trying to achieve in there. You wouldn’t normally dream of kicking through a door, and yet it seems a reasonable course of action in the circumstances.
